Wellbeing
Belltrees Public School follows the 'You Can Do It' social and emotional framework to develop the positive attitude and wellbeing of our students. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn.
Through the 'You Can Do It' framework, we encourage students to build skills and confidence across five key areas of learning;
Confidence
Believing in your own abilities and approaching challenges with a positive mindset.
Persistence
Sticking with tasks, even when they are difficult, and seeing them through to completion.
Organisation
Setting goals, planning ahead, and managing time and resources effectively.
Getting Along
Working respectfully with others, solving problems peacefully, and building positive relationships.
Resilience
Bouncing back from setbacks, managing emotions, and staying optimistic in the face of difficulties.
Other ways we support student wellbeing
Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.
We do this through:
- teachers who help students feel welcome and included
- access to school counsellors, school psychologists and specialist staff
- programs that support health, social skills, attendance and positive behaviour
- help for students who are new or changing year levels
- clear expectations for behaviour and respectful relationships
- staff who get to know each child and work closely with families
- developing health care plans for students
- open communication about wellbeing and support.
